Glenn Youngkin was elected governor of Virginia on Nov. 2, 2021, in his first bid for public office. A native of Richmond, the 6-foot, 7-inch Youngkin played college basketball at Rice University and earned an MBA from Harvard before embarking on a career in finance that culminated in a stint as CEO of the Carlyle Group.
