More Trump allies flock to accompany former president at hush money trial

.

A new host of Trump allies flocked to accompany former President Donald Trump at his Manhattan hush money trial on Thursday.

Journeys to Trump’s trial have become a pilgrimage of sorts for many Trump loyalists, with an increasing number of allies and vice presidential candidates making the trek.

Here is every major figure that joined Trump in court on Thursday:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)

Gaetz is one of Trump’s most outspoken supporters in the House, even nominating him for speaker of the House during the January 2023 speakership race.

“I’ll always stand with President Trump!” he posted on X.

Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good (R-VA)

Good is currently a supporter of Trump but caught flak for being one of the few congressional Republicans to back Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL). His primary challenger has capitalized on this, meaning his trip to New York could be a way to stave off this criticism.

“Every Republican should go support President Trump,” Good said recently.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL)

Luna has been a vocal Trump supporter since being elected in 2022. Most recently, the Florida Republican led a resolution to award Trump the Congressional Gold Medal. If successful, the former president would join the likes of the Dalai Lama.

Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX)

Cloud, a supporter of Trump, vehemently condemned the first indictment against Trump shortly after it came out, declaring it a “sad day for America.”

“The political left has now crossed a rubicon that will do severe damage to the country,” he said in a statement. “This erroneous indictment of President Trump is third-world prosecutorial behavior and severely risks undermining the integrity of our legal system. It will not stand.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ)

Biggs issued a strong condemnation of Trump’s first indictment shortly after it was announced, presenting the situation in dire terms.

“Never in my life have I seen America’s institutions as weaponized against conservatives as they are today,” he said. “A Leftist District Attorney funded and selected by George Soros has elevated a misdemeanor stemming from a minuscule accounting error into a felony due to his opposition to the former president’s politics.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN)

Ogles has been an outspoken supporter of Trump, earning an endorsement for reelection in 2024 last May. He joined Luna’s resolution to award Trump the Congressional Gold Medal.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO)

Boebert made a surprise visit, not previously reported as expected to join the Republican crew by outlets beforehand. In posts on X, she attacked Judge Juan Merchan.

“I wonder if I’ll run into Judge Merchan’s daughter here in court today,” she said. “She’s probably too busy being paid millions and millions of dollars by Democrat campaigns all across the country and won’t be able to make it. She’s likely busy working for Shifty Schiff again today…”
